Five Days in San Francisco

I've been in San Francisco, California with Kyle for about five days now, after a week in Florida. We came out here to the tech and AI capital of the world to be inspired about the business, get momentum, meet some technology partners, and experience the city.

I've been to San Francisco a couple of times over the past five years to visit my dear friend Zachary Katz. I went to Yosemite Park with Ron a couple years ago. And even back then I knew San Francisco was a special place, a very unique place that I once coined possibly the best city on Earth. Yeah.

And so coming back here later, it's interesting to be here for a month, but already feel the momentum and the pulse of the tech capital of the world. Every conversation you overhear are about AI agents, VC funding, business plans. Every cafe you go to, you spark up a conversation with another builder or founder, and it's cool sharing ideas and reinforces how awesome it is to build Acuity Health and how we're a real company doing real beneficial things to society.

So we're living in Ocean Beach, which is pretty much like China. Our landlord's Chinese. Every single person around us is Chinese. I don't see a single white person and a lot of really good Chinese food. I had good pho today, Vietnamese food, so it's cool being in an ethnic city that doesn't feel like the U.S.

One of my favorite experiences so far is going to the Rime office and meeting our voice AI provider, and it felt like being real in Silicon Valley, shoes off in the office, talking to founders that raised tens of millions of dollars, building AI models. They bought us lunch, which was super nice, and it was great.

On Friday, went to three events back to back to back. Went to the Corey Cafe and co-work, where I met an Israeli builder building an AI scribe. Then we went to a healthcare tech happy hour and talked to a bunch of people who really just arrived to San Francisco like us, a guy from Prague building a health tech device for—I forget for what. And then we went to Chabad, which was cool, and surf.

The surfing here has been fun, playful, pretty big waves, maybe like one, one and a half meters, powerful beach break. I surfed a five-ten, 35-liter board, and it was fun.

Now I'm writing this from my phone voice memo in Golden Gate Park, remote it into my Mac Mini, and it's going to post it to my blog, which is super cool. And then, yeah, just laying in the grass.

San Francisco has some of the best nature and weather in the world. It's been beautiful, 20 degrees Celsius, about 60 to 65 degrees Fahrenheit. And yeah, I'm looking forward to what this month has in store.
