I made myself a passionfruit smoothie today. I used 10 fresh passion fruits, a splash of water, and a touch of honey. It was nice and fresh. I also made a couple eggs and ate some fresh gooseberries and passionfruit jam. I got to do my 100 pushups, some sit ups and stretches after that. Today I did a little bit of farm work, tending to the land and the vegetables. I picked some weeds from the lettuce containment and turned over the soil. While touching the soil I felt connected to the Earth and realized how it was very nice soil, not too dry or crunchy. Good soil is a balance of sand, silt, and clay which holds moisture while allows drainage. Soil must be rich in organic matter, such as compost, decomposed leaves, and manure to improve fertility and structure. Organic matter helps retain moisture and supports beneficial microbes. Nutrients in the soil include nitrogen, promotes leafy growth, phosphorous, helps with root development, potassium, improves disease resistance and plant health, and other micronutrients like iron, calcium, magnesium… Most plants thrive in slightly acidic to neutral soil (pH 6.0 -7.0). That is your review on soil. Actually, the Earth's soil is going through a huge crisis right now. Sadhguru started the Save Soil global movement to address the soil crisis. He notes that 52% of agricultural soil is already degraded. Lack of organic content turns soil into sand which can cause food crisis, water scarcity, lack of bio-diversity, migration, and more. After tending to the land I went on a solid run around the farm. The road is dirt, uneven, and filled with rocks. Running makes me feel powerful. I hate it but I think that is why it makes me feel strong and accomplished. I like waving to the local children and getting the longest stares. I like doing hard things that suck. I will continue to put myself in uncomfortable situations to grow. Oh also today I reviewed the ski apartment numbers Zach and I bought in Gudauri Georgia. We are still in the red due to the management company doubling the HOA fees and having to replace the lock of our door. However, we will be in the green soon due to strong snow in late February. Zach and I bounced off some good ideas on how to have a killer season next season. I may make a website for our apartment and specifically market it to Israelis. I want to buy more international properties because it is fun. Life is fun. If you are not having fun in your life you are doing something extremely wrong. At dinner tonight I thought about all the different people that passed through. Today was calmer, quiet and not as talkative. People like to talk in their native language, which is understandable. But this creates an isolated environment and not as inclusive for conversation for all. I am pretty tired and it is only 20:00. I am not sure if I will make it a whole week on the farm. There is not as much farm work and I am almost done with the website. I am eating the same food everyday. It is good but I would like some variety.
